Hello again, Koe...

(If you missed the unimportant ramble I left to your first LJ entry, you might wonder who the .. I actually am. Check it out; all will be revealed...)

Recommendations you ask. Since I am extremely bored now I might as well comply. Here we go then.

(A) 1. a movie: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust

Reasons for recommending: Firstly, this is an anime movie. Secondly, I am not a basic anime fan. I actually don`t overly like it and even disagree quite strongly with a few of it`s base ideals. Nevertheless, I do appreciate the art of it in many cases.
So, now that we`re clear on this, I can contradict myself by declaring to actually being a fan of this particular movie. As to why is still a kind of mystery to me. I believe liked the story of it - a gothic combination of post-apocalyptic science fiction and vampire glamour and a tragic hero. As a side-note, the art design is also eye-catchingly pretty, despite the obligatory anime style. For me, it was quite a striking movie, when I really got to watching it. I see you liked the Spirited Away, so I couldn`t resist.

(A) 2. a book: the Battle of the Golden Wood, by Marnie

Reasons for recommending: Probably against your wishes, I decided to recommend a fan fiction-story instead of an actual book. Question is whether you`ve already found it or not.
A LotR story, telling the story of the Lorien`s elves from the middle of the Fellowship the the very end of the King. The author claimed to have written it in order to explain 'what Haldir was really doing during the battle of Helm´s Deep', and that statement kept me long too suspicious to read it. But in spite of the light statement, the story itself is actually very delicate prose with beautiful and rather bitterly realistic characteristics of the persons we generally know or hear very little about, like Celeborn or his actual relationship with Galadriel or the demand of their political status. The beginning of the story is a bit dragging, but it was irresistibly appealing when it really got going. Find it here:

Also, the same author`s stories 'the Mantle of Power' and 'Those Who Remain' that portray another neglected characters like Glorfindel and Samwise with a rare fresh spin, are well worth reading. Quiet and sad stories, mostly.

(A) 3. Sarah mcLachlan - Stupid

Something that always reminds the Tawny Man. For many reasons.

(B) 1. How do you define the 'things' you`ve listed as interests?
2. What scene of any of Robin Hobb`s would you like to see pictured? (Yes, I`m short on ideas, or motivation..)
3. So, where did you find the rabbit?

Can`t think of anything as profound as jessibot there now, just idle curiosity. Oh my, the a monstrous length of this entry... Well, have fun answering now.
